1 - Call your friend and offer to watch her kid overnight (24 hours!) so she can have a break.
2 - Arrange a convenient meeting place to pick up said child.
3 - Take said child home and work him into your normal routine for a full day.
You will find that for the most part, it is not that much more difficult to have three children than it is to have two. Except:
- You only have one lap. You have two legs, so you can fit two children on your lap. When there are three children, someone can't sit on your lap, so one of them hangs on your neck from behind. You may choke.
- Feeding three children is much messier than feeding two children. You may not have an opportunity to eat your food, because you are constantly feeding one (teach that boy to use a fork Jen!) and mopping up after the other two. Prolonged exposure to the third child may cause you to lose weight. Hmmmmm.....
- Bed time and nap time are significantly harder. After you have instructed the oldest child to put his pajamas on, and are changing the youngest child, the middle child has taken the diaper you were going to use and run down the hall (with a bare butt himself) laughing joyously. You get up to chase the middle child, and the youngest child stands up and pees on his blanket. While you are cleaning up that mess, all three children have disappeared - you find them giggling under the pool table. It takes a while to fish all of them out. You may bonk your head, causing a head injury.
And one more thing. Adding just one baby adds so much more $#!+ to the equation.... I swear, I have never wiped so many butts in my life.
All in all, it is really a lot of fun to have sleepovers. I asked Glen if we should give Baby Gabe back to Aunt Jenny - he said: "Let's keep him for a week!" ................. Maybe another time.
You are seeing pictures in the car because it is the only time I could get all three of them holding still, facing the camera, and smiling.
