As an interesting alternative to "Why?" Glen has started saying "Tell Me More." Case in point:
Setting: In the car
Glen: MumMum, Why do we have hearts?
Me: Well, your heart moves your blood through your body.
Glen: Tell me more.
Me: ? Okay.... when you breathe, air goes in your lungs. Parts of your body need the air, so your blood takes the air around your body. Your heart helps the blood move so your body gets the air. (I'm pretty proud of the response)
Glen: (pause) Tell me more.
I swear the kid is going to grow up to be a scientist or an engineer or something equally brainy. He loves learning!
