Cousins

I had a business trip to Denver last week, so we seized the opportunity and took the boys to see their cousins. No surprise, they had a great time!

Hanging out at various parks was top of list, as was playing superheros (Glen kept saying "Hulk Smash Little Man" as he tackled poor Stone), doing homework, and watching movies. The kids got along great together, with very little fighting or acting up. We even got them to sit still and take a few pictures of the group....









....although too many of the pictures ended up looking something like this:



On Saturday, we had a memorable day hiking in the Colorado mountains, and introducing the cousins to treasure hunting (a.k.a. geocaching). We drove out toward Red Rocks, and hiked up a steep hill...




... and Savannah, Shelby, and Stone found their very first treasure!





After a few brief minutes of excitement and treasure-choosing, we had a few minutes of cousin-ly love...








... then we were on to the next treasure (discovered by Stone). Unfortunately, the happy mood did not last, and four of the five kids cried in four-part harmony for the rest of the trip. Literally.

Crying. So, after that, we decided to stay closer to home, and enjoy the beautiful, albeit cold, Denver sunshine and local parks. We even got to go to the circus on Friday evening!
