Funny Faces

One of my favorite things about the boys is their expressions, and the stories that go with them. These are a few from a couple months ago that always make my expression turn to a great big giddy grin.

Ever taste something so sour it made you grimmace? Did you go back for more? Well, Maddox did......




Here is Maddox tasting a lemon. Of course the sour face is just after he took a great big taste - probably for the seventh or eighth time, because I had time to run into the house, find the camera and run back out to catch the shot. The next photo is of him laughing at himself - since we all laughed at the sour face, he thought he was funny. This particular exercise entertained a group of 6-7 adults for approximately 15 minutes. Maddox of course loved being the center of attention - don't we all?



And then we have Glen. For the longest time, whenever a camera was pointed in his direction, he would "smile" by scrunching his eyes up really tight. Pretty cute, but hiding the big baby blues.

Notice the salamandar in his left hand - I found it on the rock behind him, and Glen spent a happy several minutes petting the salamandar and talking to him. He talks to all animals - be they kitty, caterpillar, or salamandar in a sweet, high, sing-song voice. For this "conversation," I remember Glen saying:

"It's alright salamandar. I won't hurt you. Where is your home? Come here little guy. Is this your home?" (puts salamandar on rock - salamandar sits there) "Is your home over here?" (picks up salamandar, puts salamandar on leaf - salamandar sits there) "Are you hungry salamandar?" (trys to feed salamandar a small rock - salamandar sits there).... It is great to have such a compassionate little man!
