What do you want to do today?

This is the refrain we heard over, and over, and over and over.... while we were snowed in. Yup - we had a grand total of about 3 FEET of snow on the ground. At first, there were cheers of YAY! SNOW! Then we got more snow, then more snow, then it seemed like it would never stop snowing. Literally, I think it snowed - without ceasing - for 11 days straight. We woke up Christmas morning, and said yay, it's snowing... (Note sarcasm).

So, the question is - what on earth do you do with two small children, when you are stuck in the snow (can't get out the driveway with 3 feet of snow on it - not that it would matter, since the road wasn't plowed anyway), with no power (for three days - complete with a power line down across the driveway) for days and days and days?

1 - Take advantage of the surplus of white stuff, and go out and play in it:

2 - Make a snowman - a BIG one, and put a funny hat on his head:

3 - Laugh at the amount of snow on the truck!

4 - Cry when you see how much snow is on the driveway, and when you know you are well and truly stranded.

5 - Go for a walk down to the neighbor's house and take them up on their spontaneous offer to watch the kids for a couple hours. WOO-HOO!

6 - Eat the snow. (For some reason, this entertains Maddox to no end - he LOVES to eat the snow - in snowball form, off of trees, sucking on an icicle...)

7 - Trudge through the snow to go check fences (after catching the horses and putting them back in their fence, and catching Anubis and putting her back in her fence). Then fix the fences. (And no, Glen isn't even close to touching ground - he sunk to his waist, we sunk to halfway up our thighs.)

8 - Make snow angels. Or, throw the children into the deep, soft snow. They loved it!

9 - Play hide and seek.

10 - Play Go Fish, or CandyLand, or Matching, or Old Maid, or Chutes and Ladders..... over, and over, and over.

11 - Haul Maddox's bed out and put it in front of the fire. Jump on it repeatedly. Have a sleepover in the front room.

12 - Give in and plug the portable DVD player into a car battery. Open a DVD-shaped present early, and watch something new.

13 - Play games listed in #10, this time by lantern-light.

14 - Dress up like superheroes and jump off the couch. (Rules are bent during snowstorms).

15 - Make corndogs on the fireplace. Mmmmmm....

16 - Make a huge track for the monster trucks (or dirt bikes, or matchbox cars...) out of blocks and ramps. Race.

17 - Run around the fireplace. Repeat many times.

18 - Write a letter to Santa. (By a letter, I mean a page full of random letters - no words)

19 - Play pool. Make up games to play on the pool table.

20 - Take a nap. Please.
