Ag Fest

We always have a lot of fun at the Oregon Ag Fest, and this year was no exception. There is so much to do there - all centered around Oregon's Agriculture industry, and learning activities for the kids. Here are some highlights:

1 - Glen got to "help" sheer a sheep - he was pretty impressed that the sheep was "naked" afterward.

2 - We saw baby piglets with a big, pink mama pig.

3 - The boys got to cuddle with a bunny. "Cute" says Maddox.

4 - We picked up tons of free trees (like we need more), and planted them around the property. The boys will get a kick out of taking care of the baby trees for the whole summer.

5 - The boys each got to pot up some plant starts - a grafted apple tree, some corn starts, and a couple boxwood. Which we promptly planted when we got home.

6 - They got to race the tractors. Glen won.

7 - We saw, and got to pet, lots of farm animals, and many babies! This goat was bleating for its mama, the boys thought that was pretty cool, and bleated like baby goats periodically. All day.

8 - They got to play in a "sandbox" full of wheat.

9 - A nice lady gave them each a balloon.

10 - Far and away, the highlight from Maddox's perspective was the baby chicks. We had seen baby chicks at Coastal, and he LOVES them. Here, he got to look AND touch. He was so gentle, crooning to them and petting them very nicely.

All in all, a great, educational way to spend a Saturday!
