The Hunt

The boys have had countless Easter Egg hunts in the past couple of weeks. In addition to the Easter Rock hunt (see previous post), we have had an Easter Egg hunt with the Mom's Club (thanks Linn!), one at the park, one with all the cousins at home, and at least one or two "practice" hunts in the boy's bedrooms before bed every night. (I hide their vitamins in the Easter Eggs, so they get a "surprise" right before bed).
Anyway - here are some pictures of a few of the hunts - the boys have really gotten into it this year, and have had a ton of fun!

Maddox finding treasure at Linn's egg hunt. Notice the look of rapture for finding an egg... mixed with the anticipation of looking ahead to the next one!

My proud boy with his bounty. And his SpongeBob gloves.

Glen with his eggs. At Linn's house, he did not settle for the eggs that could be found on the ground. Nope - he climbed a tree or shook a bush to get every egg in that bucket!

The boys with the Easter Bunny at the park we went to for the egg hunt. We decided that it was more fun to find the eggs when they were actually hidden - a park full of kids scrambling after candy tossed on the ground in a field is less fun.

The Easter Bunny was good to the kids this year - they got gardening tools (a spade and rake and watering can and gloves each), PLUS a whole bunch of seed packets for our garden. I think I have the only kids in creation who get jump-up-and-down excited over vegetable seeds (and who didn't get chocolate in their Easter basket). Hmmmm... what does that say about my parenting that I hide vitamins in their easter eggs and give them vegetable seeds in lieu of candy...?

One of my favorite family traditions is to host an Easter Dinner on the Saturday before the actual holiday. All the cousins come over (and some friends who are family too!) for a big Easter Egg hunt then dinner, and of course dessert. Here is the whole clan from this year - Maddox, Rivera, Glen, Luna, Bradyn (Bubbies), Riley, Jackson, Logan and Maddie.

The kids had a great time playing, and we had fun catching up. Can't wait for next year!!
