Easter Rock Hunt

Yup - you read right. Leave it to my family to pick non-traditional activities to celebrate the season. Over the weekend, there was a rock and gem show at Mt. Hood Community College. There were lots of reasons to go:

1 - it was free.

2 - it was full of pretty rocks (boys love rocks)

3 - the rocks were not breakable, so the boys could touch

4 - there were gems and jewelry for me to look at

5 - they hosted an easter rock hunt with donated thunder eggs - much better than candy, even my kids agree!

It was a huge hit with the boys, who "found" many rocky treasures to bring home!

The Haul. Maddox went for quality (all of his rocks had gorgeous crystal formations on the insider, or were unique in some pretty way).

Glen, on the other hand, went for quantity. Together, they made a pretty good team!

One thing that was pretty amazing... Glen and Maddox each picked up a rock that was half of a whole - when we got home, we discovered that their rocks fit perfectly together. Pretty cool!
