Life Lessons from an (Almost) 6-year-old

Glen is a big helper - he always has been.  This weekend, he was helping Tyler unload a trailer full of wood (thanks Grandpa Matt!), and picked up a piece that left literally hundreds of soft splinters in his palm.

Did he cry?  Nope.  He came inside and ran some cool water over his hand while I found the tweezers and head lamp.  It took me more than a half an hour to clear his hand of the splinters.  As I was almost done, he said,

"MumMum?  I wish there was no such thing as slivers.  I mean, I wish we still had wood, but no slivers.  Yeah, I wish life was like that."

Pretty profound, if you think about it.
